If the sun had to file taxes…

If the sun had to file taxes, it would claim me as a dependent.

It provides me with an income so much richer than a few dollars. It gives me warmth and comfort, peace and slowness.

I think it chooses to hide from me as a way to remind me of its power, its grandeur.

To remind me that even in moments of darkness, it will return and I will marvel in the rays of the sun.

Gulping it down like a cup of warm tea with honey, savoring every second and dreading its inevitable disappearance.

But I rest assured,

knowing that I will see the sun again.
